Boys Varsity Wrestling · Six Wolves advance to IHSAA Wrestling Regional

The Boone Grove Wrestling Team competed very well in Saturday’s Wrestling Sectional at Crown Point High School.  As a team, Boone Grove placed 6th — competing against larger schools.  The final  team scores were:

1. Crown Point 285.5

2. Kankakee Valley 183.0

3. Lake Central 176.5 

4. Lowell 174.5

5. Wheeler 127.0

6. Boone Grove 122.5

7. Hebron 74.0

8. Hanover Central 69.0

Congratulations to: Zac Magiera (106 lb., 4th place), Mac Magiera (120 lb., 2nd place), Carson Hinkel (132 lb., 4th place), Brandon Hill (145 lb., 4th place), Brian Spears (160 lb., 4th place) and Cameron Pfiefer (182 lb., 3rd place)!

By placing in the top four in  their weight class, these Boone Grove athletes have qualified for the 2018 IHSAA Wrestling Regional!

The Regional will be hosted by Crown Point High School on Saturday, February 3rd, starting at 9:00 AM.  Tickets are $7.00.  Good luck to all as they progress toward the State Tournament!

BGHS wrestlers who also placed in the sectional, but fell short of qualifying for the regional, were:  Tristan Foreman, Ronnie Krantz, Johnnie Sullivan, Hayden Crook, Kyle Colpitts and Luke Tatalovich.
